HEY!
So, a little about me. There are two things that I can’t live without - good coffee and dogs. My obsession with coffee is something that has seemed to only grow over the last couple of years, making it my mission to find the best coffee shops in an area, even if I’m only going to be there for a few hours. After a childhood spent being surrounded by the cutest furry friends, I’ve only become more and more obsessed with them. The unconditional love of pets is something that I’ve always been so fascinated by, and I really do believe that they are so important to our lives. Me and Bec currently own a 9 year old pug called ‘Belle’, and a 4 year old pug called ‘Winnie’, who are both rescues. They both have the purest hearts.
When I’m not photographing weddings, then you will more than likely find me in the outdoors, which probably explains why the Scottish Highlands has such a big part of my heart. Since starting photography a few years ago, the outdoors have been a place that I have often gone to seek inspiration, being constantly in awe of the stunning landscapes that seem to be so fortunate to have across the UK. Living so close to the Peak District has meant that this access to the outdoors and nature is never too far away, and something that I value massively living in Sheffield. I admit though, travel in general has always been something that I have been drawn to, constantly seeking adventures to different parts of the world. Some notable places that I have had the pleasure of visiting over the last few years is Japan, Vietnam, Iceland and Thailand. Experiencing these cultures which are quite removed from our own is something that I absolutely love, and probably what keeps me wanting to visit more places in the coming years.
My Approach
Focusing on a relaxed, natural approach means that I am constantly trying to capture your wedding day as it unfolds, looking for those special moments in-between.
My style as a wedding photographer means I never stage photos, and you will normally catch me just floating around, making sure that I capture the most genuine and unique moments from your wedding day.
Similarly, when it comes to the couple session, I will often just invited you to a relaxed stroll where I will be photographing every moment of this, instead of making you pose for certain shots. I understand that it can indeed be quite awkward being photographed all day, so I often want to just chat to you and make you feel as relaxed as possible.
One thing that I love to do with all my couples is to get to know you before your big day, whether that be by going out for an engagement shoot, or just having a few calls so that I can learn a little more about you and your story. Not only does this help me to get a better understanding of the two of you, but it also allows us to immediately feel more relaxed by the time that your wedding day comes around. Through this whole process, I like to reach a stage whereby on your wedding day it feels less like a strange photographer is going to be with you all day, and more like a friend will be there with you to capture all of these important and beautiful moments.
“The pictures Joe managed to capture of our wedding day are amazing and will be an unbelievable reminder for me and my wife.”
“I can't say it enough but thank you Joe and I would tell anyone wanting a wedding photographer or any other photography please look no further and choose Joe, you'll be amazed with the results.”
