Glencoe Elopement | Scottish Highlands
Back in March, I had the pleasure of photographing Joanne & Ryan’s elopement in Glencoe. I often get asked what is the best time to visit the Scottish Highlands, and I always say either autumn or spring, where the landscape is a beautiful golden colour. It really does make this part of the world look truly special. I started off the day joining Joanne & Ryan at Ballachulish Hotel, on the banks of Loch Leven, where they got ready together. Afterwards, we drove down to Glen Etive, possibly on one of the most beautiful glens in this area. We stopped off and headed down a little track, looking back towards some of the most impressive hills in this area, and as the mist started to lift from the mountains, Joanne & Ryan had some beautiful light peaking through and lighting up the landscape. We then headed over towards the Three Sisters of Glencoe, where they shared some private vows with each other. This area of Glen Coe has so many great spots, and this one is definitely the most iconic. We then had a lovely lunch at the Clachaig Inn, which is a great spot for those that are wanting to have some lovely food during their day. To round off their elopement, Joanne & Ryan chose to head back up the glen for some more photos, this time with the Buachaille Etive Mor in the background, which is one of Scotland’s most iconic mountains. A truly incredible day for this lovely couple.
