Penrith Wedding - Lake District National Park

This summer I had the absolute pleasure of documenting Caroline & Henry’s stunning summer wedding at Caroline’s family home in the heart of the Lake District National Park. I was blown away by how beautiful the setup was for their wedding, and more importantly by the incredible abundance of flowers that Caroline and her family had spent growing all that year, not only to make the venue look stunning, but also to make her own flowers of the day. I spent the last few moments of the morning with Caroline before the ceremony, catching some beautiful moments with both her family and friends as they saw her dress for the first time, from the beautiful Rixo.

They had their ceremony not too far away at the St Andrews Church in Dacre - a stunning church nestled in the Lake District with some incredible views. As I arrived, Henry was fixing’s button holes (also made from the flowers grown by Caroline and her family) with his groomsmen, and looking super smart in his suit from Universal Works. After an emotional and beautiful ceremony, Henry had to ‘pay the toll’ at the gate (a northern tradition) before they headed off back to the reception. On the way, we made a little pit-stop as Caroline had requested we take a few photos with her favourite fell in the background - Blencathra. Afterwards they headed to their recepetion to enjoy some drinks and canapaes, and to make the most of the beautiful August weather.

After everyone had made their way into the marquee, Caroline & Henry were piped in by one of their good friends, followed by some lovely and hilarious speeches before their wedding breakfast, which was cooked by the amazing team over at Smoke and Steele. Just as the sun was starting to set, we headed to a neighbouring field for some relaxed bridesmaids and groomsmen photos, before we had a short walk for some more couple photos. Caroline & Henry then cut their huge wedding cake, before enjoying an evening of dancing with their friends and family.
